Santorini is the most popular travel destination in Greece and one of the five most famous in the world.

The island is famous for it's exceptional natural beauty. The sea just in front is actually a live volcano (caldera). The earth is cut vertically and the villages and towns of the island are built on the edge. Main town is called Fira.Other towns on the Caldera are Firostefani, Imerovigli and -the most famous of al- the magnificent Oia where hundrends of people are standing still every single evening just to watch an unforgetable sunset. Places switable for swimming are Kamari, Perivolas, Perissa, Vlihada and others. Just across Santorini there is Therasia an interesting small island which help the visitor travel to the past. Many boats offer tours in the caldera with terrific views. Palia and Nea Kammeni are two volcanic islands in the middle og the gulf that you can visit. Akrotiri is well known for one of the most ancient and well preserved archeological prehistoric settelment.
